MPE’s Investment Professionals formally established their Executive Council in 2005 as a broad, flexible network of experienced executives, drawing from relationships developed over years of operating and investing in high quality companies. Currently with 15 members, the Executive Council is comprised of seasoned operating executives with a broad range of relevant industry and functional expertise. Many members of the Executive Council accumulated skills and experience in larger corporate environments before demonstrating their ability to work effectively with smaller businesses. Some are retired executives interested in working with small, fast-growing enterprises and mentoring up-and-coming CEOs; others are actively seeking opportunities to manage portfolio companies on a part- or full-time basis.
Executive Council members assist the MPE Partners team in sourcing opportunities, evaluating businesses, and building relationships with owner/managers. Executive Council members often also serve as directors of MPE Partners portfolio companies and become intimately involved in MPE’s post-acquisition initiatives to build enterprise value. Typically, these individuals have experience and relationships in the portfolio company’s industries and/or end markets. In some cases, members of the Executive Council become interim operating executives, allowing MPE Partners the flexibility to recruit top permanent candidates without undue time pressure. In other cases, Executive Council members assume permanent leadership roles. In every instance, MPE Partners finds the insights and experiences of its Executive Council members to be integral to the Firm’s investment and company-building processes.
